If you're lucky enough to own a Schulze "Next Generation" charger equipped with the nextConn module, then at some point you will probably contemplate applying one of the upgrades that Schulze release periodically for these chargers. This page details the process of running the upgrade, and assumes you have downloaded and installed the latest version of Martin Adler's Akkusoft program which is required to upload the new BIOS to the charger.
You will also need to download and install the USB driver for the nextGen chargers, which you will find on the Schulze website - the page link is on the left hand menu column, in section "C - Download" and is labelled "USB-Treiber". Download the driver, and follow the installation instructions on this page.

Laptop, power supply and charger.
Finally, download the latest BIOS update from the Schulze website. The link for this is above the "USB-Treiber" link you followed to get the USB driver. Unzip the archive into a folder.
Once you have the USB driver installed, start Akkusoft, then connect your PC to your nextGen charger via the USB link, but do not connect the charger to either your power supply or leisure battery. In Akkusoft, select Connection from the menu bar, and Properties. Select USB Serial Port (COM4).

Configure the connection properties for Akkusoft.

Select the correct COM port.
In Akkusoft, select Tools and FirmwareUpdate. This launches a dialog box that allows you to select the upgrade ".nxt" file to upload to the charger that you have just unzipped.

Select the update to upload to the charger.
Selecting the ".nxt" file starts the upgrade process, and from this point you simply follow the prompts.

Click "Next"...

Now connect the charger to the power supply. Doing so triggers the upgrade to start uploading to the charger.

Upgrade progress.

Upgrade progress.

Upgrade finished. Job done!
